Rigging
The last course in this semester was rigging! I made thousand mistakes and it was hard to grasp the basics but in the end I became comfortable with it. Here's my final character rig:
Also feel like I need to show these two gifs. The first is made within 2h on the frist day of rigging, we've had several simple cube assignments without using any joints, just to prepare us for actual rigging:
On the second-to-last day when we were done with our main frog rig, we had a 6 hours long assignment - to model simple character, rig it and then animate it to the rhythm of Mambo no 5. Of course ended up doing something ugly with a broken rig but it was a very fun assignment.
In the end our rigging teacher put all of the characters in one video:

Concept Development
On week 16 we had a concept development course with Peter Chan. The assignment was to go out of our comfort zones as far as possible -- and I had to draw something wonky, shape-based and humorous. Also decided to go for a lineless work since this is something I'm really bad with.
Layout
In the week 15 we had layout classes. One of the assignments was a 2.5D layout based on a scene from Emperor's New Grooves

Biped Project - Design
Finally we started a biped project! This is my character, Erke, of which I'm going to create a 3d model.
Color
After two days of doing color studies with traditional paints during our color week with Lawrence Marvit, we moved to creating a digital artwork for a subject "temple". I'm rather happy with how it came out!
Storyboard
We started the storyboard class with John Nevarez with exercising drawing storyboards from scenes from animated films. Our next assignment was to create a storyboard for a scene from Lilo and Stitch, changing the mood and and the camerawork but keeping all the lines. I went with a Godfather mood:
Our last assignment was to create a storyboard based on a script, collaborating with a classmate.

Design 2
The first week after the Christmas break was the harshest week I've experienced so far. But I'm rather happy with the results! The week was all about values & rendering, and the themes were: 'demolished elven kingdom', 'pirates attacking Venice' and 'mobsters'
